The Very Reverend Glenn Spencer

    Fr. Spencer &  Fr. Ward     Fr. Spencer earned his BA degree in Philosophy at Elon College in North Carolina. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Duke Divinity School, in Durham, North Carolina. After he finished Duke Divinity School he did a residency at Duke Medical Center in the Clinical Pastoral Education program while he planted an Anglican parish in Asheboro, NC - All Souls Anglican Church. He was Director of Pastoral Care at Charter Hospital in Greensboro, NC before he was installed as rector of All Saints, Charlottesville, VA. Fr. Spencer has published numerous magazine articles on pastoral care and he authored Blessed Are Those Who Mourn, a handbook for Christians on grief and loss. Fr. Spencer and his wife Ann and their daughter Hannah live in Charlottesville.

Fr. John Paul Ward: 1 August 1916 - 27 November 2007 - Requiem Aeternam

Paul graduated from Vicksburg High School, Vicksburg, MI in June of 1933. He attended Olivet College, Olivet, Ill and Indiana Technical College, Ft. Wayne, Ind. He joined the Navy in June 1936 and spent 11-1/2 years in it before resigning as Lt(jg). He then transferred to the Air Force and spent two years active duty during Korea. He then attended San Diego State University and graduated with a physics degree. He spent 25 years as an Electronic Engineer at the Navy Electronics Laboratory, San Diego. He retired in June 1975 and went to work for Control Data Corp. Moved to Virginia and worked for Booz Allen and Hamilton for seven years. He studied for orders with Bishop Clavier and was ordained deacon the first Sunday in December 1991. He was ordained as priest on October 14, 1994.  As Curate Emeritus of All Saints' Anglican Church, Charlottesville, VA, he served faithfully until returned home to our Lord.


Fr. Dan Malcolm:

Fr. Malcolm earned his BFA degree in fine arts from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond Virginia.  He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts. Fr. Malcolm served as  pastor of Mitchells Presbyterian Church in Culpeper, Virginia and Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church in Lexington, Virginia.  He and his wife Alice were co-owners of Our Daily Bread Company in Charlottesville, Virginia. Fr. Malcolm was ordained to the priesthood at All Saints Anglican Church November, 2006. Fr. Malcolm is doing his second year chaplaincy residency at the University of Virginia Health System.  Fr. Malcolm lives in Charlottesville with his wife Alice. They have three grown sons and seven grandchildren.


Fr. Kevin Sweeny:

The Reverend Kevin Sweeney is a Curate Priest at All Saints.  Kevin was ordained to the priesthood in November of 2006 and to the diaconate in September of 2005.  Fr. Kevin studied for the priesthood through Saint Augustine’s Theological Institute.  Fr. Kevin has an undergraduate degree in business from Washington & Lee University.  Fr. Kevin lives with his wife Alice and his daughter Raven in Augusta County.  Fr. Kevin has worked in real estate, in construction and as a partner in a title agency.  In addition to his duties at All Saints, Kevin does some chaplaincy work at Blue Ridge Christian Home in Stuarts Draft, VA.

 


Fr. Gene Godbold:

Gene Godbold was ordained a deacon in November of 2001. He and his wife Kristen live in Greene County with their seven (eight in September 2007) children. Gene attended seminary (1997-2000) at St. Augustine's. He holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B.S. with a major in chemistry from the University of South Carolina where he was a Phi Beta Kappa and honors graduate. He is employed by the Battelle Memorial Institute in Charlottesville as a senior research scientist.


Fr. Ed Moore:

Fr. Edward Moore is a graduate of the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY. He served in the United States Army as an Air Defense Officer, specializing in HAWK and Nike Hercules missile systems. His air defense assignments included Homestead, Florida, Chu Lai,Vietnam, Bristol, Rhode Island, and Ansbach, Germany.  He is also a graduate of the Middlebury College Graduate School of French, Paris, France. As a Foreign Area Officer (Europe & Middle East).  He served as an Assistant Professor of French, USMA, as a Security Assistance Liaison Officer in Morocco, and as an Intelligence Officer in the Pentagon. Since retiring from the Army, Fr. Moore has taught in public and private schools in New York and Virginia. He is currently Chairman of the Foreign Language Department at Fork Union Military Academy.  Fr. Moore was ordained to the sacred order of deacons on November 11, 2000.  Fr. Moore is in charge of the Children’s Ministry at All Saints Anglican Church, Charlottesville.


Sr. Arlyn Newcomb, Deaconess

Sr. Lynda Gerlach, Deaconess
Sr. Lynda earned her BA at the University of Maryland (summa cum laude), majoring in psychology with minors in business and history. She also has undertaken graduate studies in counseling, business, Bible and theology at. The proud mother of two grown sons and their wives, Shawn & Kristin; Erik & Carmen, Sr. Lynda set apart in the service of Our Lord on Palm Sunday of 1995. The main focus of her ministry is, the very young, and the critically, chronically, or terminally ill -- and their families when needed. She also serves on the diocesan Standing Committee.
