Camp Details & Ages
All youth are welcome. For drop-offs, we ask that your child be a rising first grader. For children 5 years and under, we ask that a parent stays for camp.
Full Camp (rising 1st graders through age 12 or 13): In our large group class we will be learning about icons, including videos of the icon making process, and a guest iconographer on Thursday. Our hands on project will be making a selection of crosses.
For small group workshops, children will rotate through four workshops in groups by age. Workshops are: Experiencing Icons, Sewing with Felt (Flames of Fire/Dove), Etching in Aluminum (Symbols of God), and Potato Printing (and making paint from natural materials)
Junior Camp (Ages 3.5 – 5): Junior campers will participate in the large group workshop (see above) and then small group workshops geared toward preschoolers. They will make “Me” Dolls, Paint salt-dough “cookies,” etch in aluminum, and more!
Nursery will be available for our youngest children with play time (indoor & outdoor), story time, and simple activities such as chalk and play doh.
Volunteers welcome! If you would like to help out with the camp, please speak to Jackie Jamison.
