THIS WEEK AT ALL SAINTS

Holy Trinity - Andrei Rublev

MASS SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK OF TRINITY SUNDAY (June 3, 2012)

4, Monday – Feria
5, Tuesday – Feria
6, Wednesday – Feria
7, Thursday – The Feast of Corpus Christi
8, Friday – Feria

+ The Feast of Corpus Christi is always celebrated the Thursday following Trinity Sunday. This feast does not celebrate a specific event in the life of our Lord, but rather it commemorates the Real Presence of his Body and Blood in the Holy Eucharist. Corpus Christi was added to the Western calendar in the 13th century largely due to the petition of an Augustinian nun, Juliana of Liege. It was none other than the great theologian of the Mass St. Thomas Aquinas who composed the Liturgy for Corpus Christi as well as several hymns that focus upon the Real Presence and are frequently used here at All Saints.

+ All Saints’ Men’s Group will meet June 5, 7:00 a.m. in the undercroft.

+ Weekday Bible study of the Gospel of John meets Mondays at 10:30 a.m. If you have questions, please email Priscilla at kingplk@gmail.com or call her at 540-456-6458.

+ Summertime Biblical Greek for curious beginners! This six-week long class will give you the opportunity to learn the ancient Greek alphabet and grammatical structure, read original texts, and study Scripture. Class will meet Monday and Thursday evenings, beginning June 25 and ending August 2, here at All Saints. Each session will last approximately one hour and will follow Mounce grammar text. Everyone is invited! Register for 12 sessions, only $110, by emailing Sean McDermott at mcd.seanedwards@gmail.com. Please register by June 18.

+ Daily Mass is celebrated at 12:15 p.m. You and your family members are all remembered by name at the Altar of God every week. Please take an All Saints parish prayer list home with you & remember your fellow parishioners in your prayers!

+ Don’t forget that Wednesday School and the Agape are in recess through the summer. Wednesday School and the Agape will resume in September 2012.
