+ St. Ephraem the Syrian was born around 306 in Mesopotamia and he died June 3, 373. He became a hermit, technically a monk dedicated to constant prayer, in 363 in the desert of Edessa, where he literally live in a cave. His poetry and hymns, some based on exegesis of Scripture and some dogmatic and ascetical theology, earned him the title of “Harp of the Holy Ghost.” He was also instrumental in establishing charitable relief for the poor of Edessa.

+ Summertime Biblical Greek for curious beginners! This six-week long class will give you the opportunity to learn the ancient Greek alphabet and grammatical structure, read original texts, and study Scripture. Class will meet Monday and Thursday evenings, beginning June 25 and ending August 2, here at All Saints. Each session will last approximately one hour and will follow Mounce grammar text.
