THIS WEEK AT ALL SAINTS

Disputation of the Holy Sacrament - Raffaello

MASS SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK OF LENT V (March 17, 2013)

18, Monday – St. Cyril of Jerusalem
19, Tuesday – St. Joseph, Spouse
20, Wednesday – St. Cuthbert
21, Thursday – St. Benedict, Abbot
22, Friday – Feria

+ All Saints’ Men’s Group will meet March 19, 7:00 a.m. in the undercroft.

+ Our Winter Agape & Christian Education meets this Wednesday, March 20, at 5:45 p.m. We have regular classes for the nursery and the children and youngsters, as well as adult education.

+ Monday Morning Bible Study – A new thirteen week study of the Old Testament prophet Daniel will not meet Monday, March 18. For further information please contact Priscilla King, kingplk@gmail.com, 540-456-6458.

+ Cuthbert (c. 634-687) Monk and Bishop of the island of Lindisfarne from 685-687, is known for his piety and zeal for preaching, teaching and visiting the people of his diocese. Pious tradition has it that he was blessed with the gifts of prophecy and of healing. May the Church continue to be blessed by such powerful bishops and priests.
“Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness, and let thy Saints sing with joyfulness; for thy servant David’s sake, turn not away the presence of thine Anointed.”
+Joseph, the spouse of the Virgin Mary, is truly a saint for our times – a day in which so many families are marked by fathers who choose not to fulfill their responsibilities and promises both to their wives and children. Joseph stands as a good example of one who responds to God’s presence in life – for him it came to him in his dream, in which he was told, “fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife; for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.” (The day’s Gospel – Anglican Missal).

+ All Saints parishioner may obtain a Mass card from the Church office. A Mass card is a greeting card given to someone to inform him or her that a deceased loved one or friend was remembered and prayed for at a weekly Mass. It is a specifically Christian way to express one’s love. Call Julie McDermott at the Church office (434-979-2842) and she will help you fill out the form. The celebrant will sign the card and we will mail it from the Church to the family of the loved one.

+ Daily Mass is celebrated at 12:15 p.m. You and your family members are all remembered by name at the Altar of God every week. Please take an All Saints parish prayer list home with you & remember your fellow parishioners in your prayers!
